The British International Amateur Film Festival is being held in Weymouth, just ahead of the 2012 Olympic Sailing events.
The classic seaside resort of Weymouth, with its sandy beach and idyllic leisure harbour, nestles perfectly alongside the rugged "Isle" of Portland on Dorset's Jurassic Coast.
   
Weymouth and Portland are less that 3 hours from London by rail or just over 3 hours by motorway. The nearest airports are at Exeter and Bournemouth with an easy air /rail interchange at Southampton Airport. See how to get there.

SoCo, the Southern Counties Region of the IAC is hosting BIAFF 2012 at The Rembrandt Hotel, close to the sea front and the site of the 2012 Olympic Sailing events.

Wireless internet access is available Free of Charge to Rembrandt Hotel guests within most areas of the hotel.
On Friday afternoon, there will be an optional tour around the "Isle" and a stop for refreshments. Visitors to BIAFF will have an unique opportunity to visit the National Sailing Academy on Portland, where the teams will be training.
The main programme starts on Friday evening and runs through to late Sunday afternoon. For those arriving on Thursday, evening entertainment will be provided by the Region. The bar / restaurant will be open and bills can be settled with the hotel.
On Saturday there will be four "mini-cinemas" running at once, and each showing different fascinating programmes of top films and runners-up.
On Saturday night a gala banquet with a surprise guest of honour, will offer a chance to get to know other delegates.
On Sunday we come together in one large hall for the screening of the major award-winning films and presentation of prizes. Lunch is optional and must be booked in advance. The restaurant will be open Sunday evening, bills can be settled with the hotel.

Single rooms (all either twins or doubles for single occupancy) and budget twin / doubles are on hold at selected smaller sea front hotels nearby.
All rooms are ensuite. Although all the Rembrandt's single rooms have now been allocated, there are still double / twin bedded rooms available at The Rembrandt Hotel which is the main venue. There are some singles available is a special 4 night package at a reduced rate at The Studio next door - see picture below.
In view of the Games, reservations need to be made much sooner than is usual, and we suggest that a deposit be sent with a booking form (available below) as soon as possible so as to secure the accommodation of your choice. See examples of costs for a 4 night stay.
